Mid-Ohio Sport Car Course Lexington, Ohio May 20-22, 2005
The 2005 Formula BMW USA Championship will make an important milestone when it stops at Mid-Ohio this weekend. This is the first time the series has raced at the Lexington Ohio circuit. Rounds 3 & 4 of the 2005 Formula BMW USA Championship will be racing in support of the American Le Mans. This is the first time Derek Burseth has ever raced at Mid-Ohio with 13 classic turns and 2.258 miles of track.
Rain limited testing on Thursday. During race 1, our driver was receiving different data on the car than we though it could be. It turned out that the new update software on the data system was not correctly loaded on to the steering wheel data. Race 2 started with Derek passing 3 cars off the standing start. With the great start he kept moving up though the race getting faster even avoiding a large woodchuck running across the course, until the last few laps when he was forced off course. Burseth Racing is looking forward to the upcoming Grand Prix of Canada in Montreal. Derek would like to thank Stuart Taylor from the Corvette American Le Man team for trying to fix his computer that had broke this weekend
