Circuit Gilles Villeneuve Montreal Canada June 10-12

Gilles Villeneuve Circuit is a great track and great fans.  Burseth Racing is excited to be racing in the Grand Prix of Canada in Montreal with the Formula BMW USA as a support series for the Formula One World Championship.  Because of the hectic weekend schedule, the Formula BMW USA will have one practice and one qualifying session.  The qualifying session was cut short for a red flag.  "It's too bad the qualifying session was cut short on Friday." states Cheryl Burseth team manager.  "Our driver was breaking in new brakes for the weekend when the session stopped after 4 laps.  This stoppage was detrimental to our team strategy.  Derek wasn't able to get his best times for qualifying for both races."  "I didn't have that much time on the track but I am looking forward to racing here.  The track is pretty tight and passing will be tough." commends the "98" driver Derek Burseth.  In both races a lot of cars were falling out due to crashed.  Burseth was able to keep his nose clean which is an important thing at a place like this.  Starting in 21st position Burseth moved up to 16th position.  The second race Burseth started 20th position and finished in 15th position.

With a really hot and humid weekend Burseth Racing had  a successful weekend and looks forward to Indianapolis for the next Formula One Grand Prix Race.  It was also great for the Burseth family to cheer Derek on including his brother and his Grandfather Gordon Burseth.  Racing in support of both the Canadian and U.S. Grand Prix on back to back weekends, rounds 5 through 8 of the Formula BMW USA Championship is one of the highlights of the season.
