Road Atlanta Rounds 13 and 14 September 27, 2005

The decidedly difficult 2.54 miles of Road Atlanta circuit in Braselton, Georgia will set the stage for the final 2 rounds of the 2005 Formula BMW USA Championship.  Known for its challenging mixture of high and low speed corners, Road Atlanta also includes some of the largest elevation changes seen in North America road course and rewards those drivers who are fast, smooth and patient.  Derek Burseth was looking for to Road Atlanta since he tested there at the beginning of the season.  "This was my first year racing and running a team.  I learned a lot.  I learned that there are people you can trust and people you can't trust.  While the rest of the drivers just showed up and drove, I was having to worry about set up, working on the car, driving, and everything else.  Most drivers in this series have a lot more money to spend for seat time and expenses.  I feel that I have done a great job this year.  There is not a lot of 21 year olds that could of done what I have done this year.  I wanted to race and I made it happen.  I will race in the same way I have all year doing my best and not crashing.  Performing well at qualifying session is the key to success or disappointment.  A good starting position most often translates to a good finishing position.  I wasn't the fastest, but I was very consistent." states Derek Burseth
